The Good ol’ Days Are Back!! Everyone enjoys great music and you won’t be disappointed! The New MexiChords barbershop chorus and quartets will bring back the good ol’ days in this year’s Spring show, “Sentimental Journey” . Take a trip back to when music was mellow, when you could understand the lyrics, and they brought tears to your eyes with the memories of your youth. The very best that four-part a cappella singing in the barbershop style can bring is what the New MexiChords are all about. Our chorus brings to its audiences a level of musical entertainment that is hard to beat. Joining the chorus will be our guests, Quartet of All Time, a youthful four-some who will entertain our audiences with wonderful barbershop harmonies that will set your toes a-tapping!
This annual show will be on Friday, May 3, at 7:00 p.m., and on Saturday, May 4, at 2:00 p.m., at the St John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
Admission: $15 at the door. Kids age 6 and under are free. Cash, checks, VISA, AMEX, and Mastercard accepted.

SEASON FINALE OPERETTA
Music of Spain: The Art of ZarzuelaFriday, June 7, 2024 at 7 pmImmaculate Heart of Mary Retreat Center in Santa Fe
Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 5:30 pmSt. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church in Albuquerque
The operatic genre known as zarzuela originated in Spain during the Baroque period (1630-1750), underwent a renaissance in the Romantic Era (1850-1950), and made its way to the Americas, where individual, Spanish-speaking countries developed their own versions. Solo vocal music is accompanied by choral & orchestral settings that alternate with dialogue. Zarzuela also incorporates folk tales and dance into a most enjoyable art form that especially resonates with audiences here in New Mexico
Our Season Finale Operetta program features scenes from La Verbena de la Paloma, Luisa Fernanda, Marina, El Guitarrico, El Barbarillo de Lavapiés, Don Gil de Alcalá, La Taberna del Puerto, Diamantes de la Corona, El Trust de los Tenorios, La del Manojo de Rosas, Katiuska, La Dolorosa, and Cecilia Valdéz. Composers include Tomás Bretón, Federico Moreno de Torroba, Emilio Arrieta, Augustin Pérez Soriano, Francisco Asenjo Barbieri, Manuel Penella Moreno, Pablo Zorozábal, José Serrano Simeón, and Cuban composer Gonzalo Roig.
