APS Hosts Drive for Supplies on Friday
For Firefighters Battling New Mexico Fires    

WHAT: Albuquerque Public Schools is hosting a drive-up and drop-off supplies drive for the firefighters fighting the fires in Northern New Mexico. The Drive for Supplies will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 20, in front of Alice and Bruce King Education Complex (APS administrative offices), 6400 Uptown Blvd. NE. The public can also drop off items at the APS-owned KANW radio station, 2020 Coal Ave. NE.

Items collected include:

  • Electrolyte powder mix that can be added to water bottles (like Propel) 
  • Electrolyte replacement water in cases  
  • Water
  • Individual snacks such as protein bars, trail mix, jerky sticks, diabetic-friendly snacks
  • Black socks
  • Underwear – preferably extra-large, but all sizes welcome
  • Dark t-shirts – all sizes
  • Chapstick
  • Sunblock 
  • Wet wipes for face and body
  • Acetaminophen 
  • Ibuprofen
  • Allergy medications
  • Sodas including diet
  • Nail clippers
  • Tweezers
  • Shaving Cream
  • Vienna Sausages and potted meat 
  • Crackers
  • Storage Containers
  • Containers for warming food (glass preferred)

WHO: APS employees, students, families, and neighbors are encouraged to drop off items.

WHEN: Friday, May 20, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE: 

  • On the north side of the Alice & Bruce King Education Complex (APS administration building), 6400 Uptown Blvd. NE
  • KANW radio station, 2020 Coal Ave. NE
