This exhibition features several digital works and paintings by Carol P. Chamberland. Her work reflects the inspiration from the Petroglyph National Monument and public landscapes throughout New Mexico. The graphic series celebrates the vision of the ancient artists with the utmost respect for their craft. Each image is carefully drawn, then digitized and superimposed on the actual landscape where that petroglyph was created. Ms. Chamberland’s mixed-media paintings borrow elements from geology, archaeology and hiking. The semi-abstract visions represent actual places, elements of design and color are elaborated for emotional impact. Each composition requires several steps in a lengthy process of layering colors upon colors and pencil upon paint.
