Lovelace Medical Center launches drive-up COVID-19 testing

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (Albuquerque Journal) — New Mexico health officials say drive-up COVID-19 testing is now available at Lovelace Medical Center. The Albuquerque Journal reported Friday that the downtown medical center has announced plans to offer drive-up services from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week. It is unclear when those services are expected to stop. Chief medical officer Vesta Sandoval says mobile testing can reduce emergency room crowding and give better data to public health officials. Health officials say people with mild symptoms, or who are asymptomatic but recently traveled or had contact with an infected person can give a quick specimen that is then tested at a local lab.
