Adkins has 4 TD passes; New Mexico State beats Liberty 49-41

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Josh Adkins threw four touchdown passes, Christian Gibson ran for two scores and New Mexico State held off Liberty 49-41 on Saturday night.
Peytton Pickett bullied into the end zone from the 1 to pull Liberty (2-3) to 49-41 with five minutes left.  The Flames forced New Mexico State (2-4) to punt with 2:10 to play, but then couldn't get the ball past midfield to end it.
Adkins was 34 of 51 for 402 yards and didn't throw an interception. Gibson finished with 127 yards rushing on 13 carries. OJ Clark had 10 receptions for 145 yards and a touchdown for the Aggies.
Stephen Calvert was 31-of-54 passing for 365 yards and threw two touchdown passes for Liberty.  Frankie Hickson ran for 155 yards and a touchdown. Antonio Gandy-Golden and DJ Stubbs each had 115 yards receiving.
