DYING FOR A STIMULATING CONVERSATION? Interesting Conversations (an educational non-profit with the mission to make learning fun again) hosts its first Albuquerque “Conversation” Friday, October 12th 5:30 – 7:00 pm at Vibrance restaurant in Nob Hill. What is a “Conversation”? Interesting Conversations brings outstanding speakers/facilitators together with lifelong learners to share their expertise and passion on a wide range of topics through conversation, rather than lectures. This is about a lively interaction and sharing of ideas, observations and opinions through participation, questions, sharing experiences and insights. The topics will be all over the map from STEM to cultural and humanities topics. The one thing they will have in common are outstanding experts that will facilitate the conversation. The inaugural event will be a fun and stimulating conversation “Lie to Me” by an award-winning educator, Dr. Brown. Using optical illusions, he will help explain neurocognition errors: How we are sometime hard-wired to get the wrong answers. Included in the ticket price is a beverage (plenty of non-alcoholic selections as well as a beer or wine for those over 21). Pre-register at: www.InterestingConversationsNM.com “The brain has evolved to prioritize speed over accuracy. The rules have changed, but not our brains” said Dr. Brown. "Hard-Wired does not mean insurmountable.” Additional upcoming conversations are “Autistic Adulting: Life on the Spectrum” (10/26/18), “Vocational Journey” (11/9/18), and “Speculative Poetry 101” (12/4/18).
