LeVar Burton Is Still Reading To Us During The Pandemic (Rebroadcast)

This one is for you, '90s kids.
This one is for you, '90s kids.

LeVar Burton is known for his groundbreaking roles in Star Trek and the original Roots television film.

But if you were a kid in the 90s, you probably also him as the host of the PBS children’s show Reading Rainbow, a job he held for two decades. He’s an actor, director, author, and for the last three years, he’s hosted a podcast called LeVar Burton Reads.

Burton has worked hard to instill a love of reading in children, and the coronavirus pandemic hasn’t slowed him down. Through his Twitter, he’s been live-streaming himself reading stories aloud three times a week. From his home in Los Angeles, LeVar reads stories meant for children, young readers, and adults alike.

We’re talking to LeVar Burton about his life, career, and how he’s staying sane during the pandemic.
