Forecasters warn of critical fire weather in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Forecasters are warning that strong winds, low humidity and above normal temperatures are expected to combine for an unstable scenario in New Mexico. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque says critical fire weather conditions are possible across central and eastern New Mexico on Saturday. The latest map indicates extreme drought has expanded its grip over parts of northern New Mexico in the last week, while the rest of the arid state is dealing with more moderate to severe drought.
